group show...

April 12 - 22 2007
Barbados , West Indies

Limited Editions to size: 20 each

Barbadian photographer Leslie Taylor brings a fresh view to " Dirty Flowers and Old Boats " at the group show at The Main Guard, The Garrison, Barbados, April 12 - 22 2007.
Known for her lyrical yet unexpected treatment of local flora, landscape and environment, this new view explores the "dirty" underside of flowers with allusions to aging, abuse and sexuality. Inspection of the conventionally pretty surfaces of these black and white images leads the viewer to a contemplation of the role on imperfection in beauty. A surprising connection is made between leaves and petals and the metal and timber of " old boats ".
Fans of her previous showings in Barbados and Miami will not be disappointed with this new exposition.

Congrats on the show. Now don't you dare put your most recent "dirty underside discovery" on Fotopages. Mon 16-Apr-2007 09:41

Does not seem like a "Winston" to me, but then what do I know... Looks more like a Chris Alleyne or even a LT. Looks great anyway. Sun 14-Jan-2007 22:16

I am not sure what the flip-flops have to do with Lancaster House but I like the shot a lot. Its (to me) the best of this series. The play of light and shade in #3 is also interesting. Perhaps it needs a person at the focal point in the lighted area?

You had some fun. That's what's important.
